66 Travelall 1100a Aluminum Grill, etc.

I thought the grill, headlight, and turn signal rings were aluminum.
After sanding, polishing, etc, it looks like there might have actually been chrome on the trim rings.
If there was chrome on these pieces it sure looks mighty thin. :O

As bizarre as this seems. The headlight rims and rims around the turn signal lights seem to be chrome plated aluminum. Or, to be clear, what is left of some chrome plating on aluminum. The grill, I have not yet removed but appears aluminum too.
 
Anodized - yes, that is it. They were anodized aluminum. I need to research this and see if anyone does this type of restoration. Thanks for the memory jog!

:idea: Anodizing?!? Never wouldve guessed, but now I have to know, can black hardcoat anodizing be done to match my "Evil" black pew pews..... Hmmmm as far as a service, ask a gunsmith, I was contemplating offering the service till I became a IH freak and all my money disapeared :lol:
