65’ Scout 2.5 Turbo Throwout Bearing Issue

Hello, I am working on a 1965 Scout 2.5 Turbo for a customer and we are running into an odd issue. The gap between the throwout bearing and the pressure plate is excessively large and caused the fork to over extend and contact the transmission case cracking the fork. The forks been repaired but we are having trouble sourcing a throwout bearing and sleeve with the correct spacing. We ordered 2 from IH Parts America. A long and short sleeved version but they are meant for a transmission with a 1.25” input shaft. Being a 4 cylinder this scout only has a 15/16” shaft. There is roughly 3/4”-1” of gap before the throwout bearing contacts the pressure plate. The current throwout bearing and sleeve combo measures out to about 1.5” total length. Does this seem correct or do we have a different issue clutch fork, bell housing, ect… The customer only recently got the vehicle back from a restoration shop and we are unsure if parts have gotten mixed up and if the correct parts are installed. Thanks in advance for any help.

The number on the fork, current model of transmission and some pics of everything could be useful. Like you are thinking, sounds like a mismatch in parts.

Here are pictures of the throwout bearing and sleeve with measurements as well as part numbers on the fork, trans, and bell housing and some pictures of the clutch style and splines and spacing to the pivot point for the fork. Let me know what you think.

I talked with Zaed here and he was saying the forks are just weak for the new springs. Has been a common problem. I would maybe see if a machine shop can install some webbing to reinforce the fork possibly.
