I have a 67 1100a Travelall with the 304 engine.
I just received the rig this week and have been slowly getting it road worthy, today being the first day I took it on the pavement.
I work through the gears, and it seems like 4th gear should have a higher top end than 45mph. As I teenager I drove a 3 on the tree and remember being able to go highway speeds no problem.
Could this be a broken five speed tranny or my axle ration to low?
As a side note, and it may not be related, the transfer case is frozen in 2WD mode. There is absolutely no play in the thing. I'm going to post this in the transfer case section, but just thought I would provide as much information as possible.
I have not crawled under the thing to take a look yet.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I can get numbers tomorrow if I know where to look.
