I have a two barrell intake on my Scout right now. The truck is mainly going to be used on the trail very little road use at all. I also have another 345 that has the four barrell intake and a 4150 carb. Should I leave the two barrell on it or swap to the 4 barrell?
Sorry, intakes are not swappable between the 304 and 345 due to a deck height difference. They share the same cylinder bore, but the 345 stroke is longer making the block taller and the valley gap wider.
Sorry. I don't know where I got that. I could have sworn one engine mentioned was a 304 and the other a 345. Which 2bbl carb is it? How is the engine running right now with that carb? What condition is the 4150 in? You wouldn't notice much of a performance gain off road by doing the swap if the 2bbl is a 2300 in optimum condition. The instances where a swap would be most apparent would be in extreme duty situations such as moving a heavy load or pulling a long, steep grade where vacuum drop would be significant enough to actuate the secondaries.
