I have rebuilt 345 with less than 1000 miles on the engine. Also have a rebuilt 727 with less than 5000 miles on it and the d20 is stock but works fine.
345 specs:
-bored .020 over
-rods balanced
-new sealed power pistons (same as used in extreme 4x4 build)
-rebuilt harmonic dampener
-new oem Holley distributer w/perf. Re-curve by the philbin group
-new rpt motor mounts
-new timing gears (r1) from IHOnly
-new cam/lifters/pushrods isky 256/262 grind
-new water pump
-new clutch fan/blades
-rebuilt oil pump
-reconditioned head
-mild porting in exh. Port to remove hump
-clevite bearings
-victor reinz gaskets/seals
-all bolt on components media blasted and repainted
-Holley 2bbl carb 2300
-petronix II ingnitor, coil, and wires
