304 V8 Rear Main Seal

I was hoping to replace my rear main seal while I had my transmission off. It looks like it’s leaking, but there’s really like 20 years of oil caked on everywhere, so it’s hard to tell.
IHPartsAmerica was sold out, so I went to Rock Auto, which I almost always regret doing.

I lined up the two gaskets before removing the old one and they looked like they matched. When I went to install it, the plastic ring burst, which I’m thinking means it was too small.

Does any one know where I can find a part that fits?

Hi,

Your only option is to buy the full reseal kit. That is the only way to get the nice rear main seal.
