22xx or 2300?

I'm relatively new to scouts as I'm on my first one, a 76 Scout. It runs right now(kinda), to get it to idle I have to get under the hood and manually close the choke and move it myself while it warms up. I recently rebuilt it with the help of many on the forum according to the 22xx threads. However, the bimetal spring on the divorced choke setup doesn't operate the choke the proper way.

I have read that the 0-7448 2300 is the way to go for a good carb. I do not have to worry about emissions with living in montana. All I am trying to do is get it to be a reliable daily driver that I don't have to work with for 15 minutes everytime I want to go drive

my question is which would be the better choice, to try to get the 22xx to play nice and find a new choke setup or buy a new 2300?

Does anyone know about how much a 2300 would run me? I'd prefer it to be a bolt on type of thing since I don't have much experience at all with fabricating and need it running soon.
