2210 morph??

Hi guys!

I am new to this forum, and to International.

I just picked up a sweet 1972 scout11 with a 304[ stainless headers, 3 inch with a y pipe, and a fresh rebuild, prestolite dizzy!

I am trying really hard to not repeat questions, but no searches have turned up similar results.

After going through the 2210 thread, I have come to think that I have a botched rebuild.

Is it possible to have a 2210 top and bottom, and a different center section?

Sorry for the terminology here but, I have a 2210 top, I think I have a 2245 center???? And a 2210 throttle plate??

I can not provide list numbers as they have been removed somehow!

My linkages have been seriously twaeked.

As I am typing this, I realize that I must have a 2210 center because if you manually operate the power valve it squirts, but if you use the throttle linkage it sometimes does and sometimes does not??

Is there a carb that you guys would recomend as a replacement for this 304?

Also does IH rebuild carbs that are sent in or just sell them?

Is there a place just to buy throttle plate and linkage??

I know that there are alot of questions here, but hell I am just getting started!

Cheers, and thanks!

You need to read the 'carb stuff' stickies. You'll find more info there. You'll also need to post pics of your carb from all angles.

Unfortunately, the carb expert (michael mayben) on this forum has been "out of the office" for a while. I do not know if he is going to return soon or not. Jeff should know.

Probably best to post pictures of your carb - all sides.

Sounds like someone "adapted" a "junkyard" carb to your engine. I have "read" that a few people have put motorcraft carbs on their engines.

Do not think that Holley would throw different pieces together when they rebuilt a carb, but I think that they May have removed list numbers when they rebuild one -- usually a Holley sticker or ??? On the carb. You can check mayben's posts. Of course, some other carb rebuilder May have thrown pieces toegther.

A new carb replacement is a Holley 2300 2bbl 350cfm, you can call ihon about carb availability.

Very likely a botch job and fairly typical of reman's these days, unfortunately. Parts is parts to most of them scru's. The media blasting process they employ to clean carbs is very damaging to both internal passages and external surfaces. Mayben should be back in the playpen pretty soon by all accounts. To expound on what Robert c mentioned, the closest thing to an out of the box, turnkey carb setup is the Holley list # 0-7448. Binder owners have had great success with these models, with only minor fine tuning required in most cases. Ihon can set you up with either the manual or electric auto choke version as per your preference.
