1980 Traveler heater parts - blower motor and valve

1980 turbo diesel Scout traveler. Most stuff under the hood appears original, the rest looks like stock replacements.

It's starting to get colder out, so I actually care whether or not my heater works:)

the blower motor wouldn't spin, so I pulled it out. The bearings are so shot that it's hard to spin by hand and only "twitches" when I apply 12 volts on the bench. Also, the valve for the heater core was frozen. I pulled it out and cleaned it up. It now moves fairly easily but I'd still prefer to replace it if a new one isn't expensive.

I'm having trouble sourcing these parts. I found what I believe to be the right motor on another site. It is listed as "blower motor (non a/c)( heater fan motor) - Scout II, Travelall, travelette, pickup, Scout II diesel" IH p/n 437137c92.

The motor is described as "single speed". Since the speed control (resistors) are external, I'm assuming this is the right motor. Can someone verify this is the right part, or tell me where else I might pick one up?

Also, there are a whole lot of heater control valves out there - can someone point me to the right part number / source for a new one? Pictures of both are included below.

Thanks!

Sorry, my bad. I didn't look closely enough at the picture and description. I do know that particular motor was widely used on a broad range of GM vehicles from the late 70's into the early 90's. Now that my memory has been unclogged as well, I can also say that I up-converged my '74 hvac to utilize that "1980" motor with the addition of a resistor in place of the stock two-speed motor. Much quieter and it really blows...in a good way. So, it shouldn't be difficult or costly to source. This is one of those times where you can cheat by asking for a non-IH specific part to wind up with just what you need.

We do stock the blower motor for the 79'-80' Scout II's its just not listed online. $42.95 plus shipping.

Cool! That's significantly less than the price at the other place I found one listed.

Fyi...

Napa also claims to sell the heater blower motor - part number 655-1076. While the flange, screw pattern, and rotation are correct, the shaft offset is off by 3/4". With the original one the distance from the flange to the top of the blower wheel was 3-1/2". The napa blower has a distance of 4-3/16". The clearance in the heat exchanger is only 4".

[edit - I omitted a 1/4 inch spacer in the original measurements. Including the spacer, the distance from the flange to the top of the blower wheel on the old motor is 3-3/4", not 3-1/2. Napa's part is still too tall.]

Also, my testing was inadequate. My bench power supply doesn't have enough juice for these motors. The napa one just twitched instead of turning too. Hooking the old one directly up to the battery showed it spins quite nicely. I May still be back for a motor if this one spins quite nicely, but too slowly. I won't know until I trace all the wiring and fix the other problems with the heat.

Thanks!

Heater control valve arrived today (heater control valve for all Scout II - International Scout parts)- looks much like the old one, except shinier and not missing chunks. It opens/closes a whole lot easier too:)

fyi - napa struck out on this one too. The part they provided based on their computer lookup was all wrong. 3/4 instead of 5/8 inch and the open/close positions were reversed. Counting shipping costs, their wrong part was about the same price as the right one. (if they're going to be wrong, they could at least be cheap...)

my local napa guys are usually pretty good. Scout heating systems certainly do mess them up though.
