I asked about repairing my 1980 grill, someone responded and told me that they used jb weld to repair there grill, I used it on mine, works great, glued the back side, and now almost done sanding the grill for paint, JB is great stuff, just clamped the areas that were broke, and there were quite a few spots, but all done, Taking the grill out was the hardest, cause fasteners were rusted. reinstall gets anti seize on all, I rebuild another scout, with new cam and timing gears, dont think it needed the gears, but the cam made it come alive, I also rebuilt the heads.
Now going to paint the grill black, Have 2 more 1980 grills, I think I will do one more thats in a 80 diesel traveler. I'll keep this one, but selling the black one in the future, little more items left to do, than it goes to new home.
I have lots of projects, and the scouts aren't the first priority, have 60's cars that are almost done, Besides the 80 diesel, I'll keep a 1974, it has a good body, and its another one that I put a new cam in 20 years ago, I'll put in a 79 grill and steal parts from the heard to make it nice. I put flow master mufflers on all my scouts and classic cars, love the sound, makes a 345 sound like a muscle car. DC
