Selling Grandpas 1978 SII XLC w/63k miles original
$5,000 obo - located in mapleton, utah
this is grandpas original 1978 Scout xlc. Bought brand new in hollywood CA.
It has an original 63,000 miles on it and is 99.999% all original.
I have all documented work done on it and original title.
The only and I mean only unfortunate thing with this truck is that it spent it's life in utah salt covered roads, so it has some cancer but the good think is that it's not spread to any body mounts, basically it's all body panels.
Features:
345ci engine, 727/d20 Dana 44's front and rear with trac-lok in rear 3.73 gears, air conditioning, deluxe trim, tilt wheel, am radio, center console, and for more details read the line ticket.
Runs strong and drives fantastic, no smoke and minimal drips.
I originally put this up for sale a month or so ago but thought I'd do some maintenance on it before I listed it.
Here's what ive done to it in the last month:
changed oil, filter and added filter adapter seal (it was leaking like crazy)
flushed coolant
rebuild carb (2210c)
drain and fill transfer case
drain and fill front and rear differentials
new plugs (autolite 85)
and here's what's been done in the last 10 years:
all new engine seals
new master cylinder
flushed brakes
distributor cap
brake cylinders
much much more...
The bad:
grandpa stalled so he hooked a chain to the front bumper instead of the frame and pulled it right off.
he's also put a dent in the drivers rear quarter panel.
This would be a ideal candidate for total restore to original
the pics here are from when I first got it so minor things have changed like I put the jack back under the hood and cleaned it up a bit inside but you'll get the idea.
