I've got a friend who lives in dallas or, works at les schwab, he's coming down end of June for a rubicon run, might be able to bring them back if you made a deal.

So I am wanting to do some fab work on the frame but instead of tearing mine all the way down to the frame I was thinking about just buying another frame and doing the work to then transfering everything over. Anyone else do this?

Okay update. Not much to say on this one I havea lead on possibly trading someone my SUA axles for his which are set up for SOA. And I have been doing more floor repair:

Used this product called rustmort by sem which is supposed to kill rust in pitted areas so using that on the floors then will topcoat with a silver filler to smooth things out to get ready for the bedliner floor coating, then on the body parts with the rust pit issue I will rustmore then smooth with a polyester filler

If your wondering there is still a frame under the Scout. My cousin has been buying and selling scouts for the past few months trying to accomidate all the parts to restore his so in all the moving around of his scouts I ended up with an extra frame to do all my fab work to then when I am done I will powdercoat the frame and swap the body over.

Updates:

front axle is being built by chris pucci cut and turn Chevy front brakes and upgraded warn hubs.

Decided to go the ls route, so hoping to pick up a 5.3l later this month. Will be selling all the stuff I have for a TBI setup a bit later this month.

So its been a while here is what I ahve been working on:

this is how it came home:

And now:

It looks quite a bit different and rides alot different. Just for fun here is a couple of my old ride from when I was younger:

Hoping to get back to the Scout soon...

Update time, I had the rusted pillar repaired by a local restoration shop and had a spray in bed-liner put in. Next month I will be taking a trip to Colorado to pick up a fully assembled roll cage as well as front and rear bumpers as well as rock sliders from d&c, I May also stop by corbeau seats on the way. I also have since received a tuffy security console as well as a lokar cable shift system for a GM column shift setup, I also recently received a custom built aluminum radiator for the ls swap meant to be a factory fit for for the Scout.

Here is a few pictures I have then I will add more tomorrow:

So this is going to be a pretty good update. Earlier this month I went to Colorado springs and picked up a cage, bumpers and sliders from d&c extreme. I got to say at first I was a little concerned buying from them after reading about a rocky past they had. After having this dealing with them I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, they are definitely a top notch outfit. I gave them a month lead time to get everything built and it paid off everything was quality built. So here is the cage and bumpers after coming back from the powdercoaters:

The bumper are defiantly cool and the cage looks awesome.
I'm just curious, can you post picks of the front of the cage? Does it interfere with the glove box and dash area? I know your dash is tore out, so it might be hard to tell.

Also on a side note, I don't know if it is true or not but I want to say I read that d&c is under new management. Like I said, I'm not sure if it is true.

D&c is under new management. Eric younger is the dudes name, like I said top notch I would not hesitate to deal with him again.

I will try to snap pics of the cage tomorrow but you are right my dash is out right now so I am not sure what it will and will not interfere with.

Here are some pics from my trip to Colorado, it was a long drive but fun and I got to see a lot of country. I wish I had gotten some more pictures in Colorado, but I was driving for most of it.

In idaho after a full day of driving.

At the little america truck stop in wyoming

In the Colorado rockies, amazing area! I would love to have been up there without a trailer.

Flying through utah at 80.... A whole lot of nothing!

Once I got home I finally had a chance to get the trailer set up for its intended purpose, a rolling garage for the banshees:

So its been a long time..... Guess its time for an update so here is what I have been up to.
I finally located a np241c and have rebuilt that with a sye kit from jb conversions. You can also see the fuel pump in this photo as well:

I have also got most of the wiring done including a dual battery kit with dual red top optimas:

Tomorrow its going for a trailer ride to get measured for drive lines as well as get a quote for an exhaust install:

Most of the interior has been powder coated or refinished so now its just waiting to be put back together, still some minor wiring to finish up:

I also picked myself up a new daily driver:

And then a few months ago the girlfriend ended up with her own project. This is a truck she bought with her ex and when they broke up he was allowed to keep it. It broke down in stockton California and he chose to stop paying on it so we were able to locate exactly where it was and after some persuasive conversation I was able to convince the shop to release it to us. So we drove 9 hours from brownsville oregon in my excursion, got down there the truck was so dead it couldn't drive itself up the trailer so we had to hire a tow truck to hook up to the trailer and winch it on to the trailer for the trip back. To say it was heavy load would be an understatement:
