1976 scout 2 traveler starting problem turns over weak spark

Im having some problems with my Scout starting its been sitting for maybe a year now and it turns over but I cannot get it to start I have replaced the coil and gold box and the po installed a pertronix ignition and a new distributor and im still getting weak spark while I have a charger on the battery in jump mode for extra power if need be. Im to the point where I almost just want it gone. My question is how should I proceed to trobleshooting? 1976 Scout II traveler with what my guess is a 345 and manual transmission.

If the battery is so weak that it needs a helping hand on a regular basis, that's issue number one. You cannot successfully diagnose electrical problems with a suspect battery. Do you know if the engine has run since the distributor was replaced and the ignitor module installed? An ignitor replaces the function of the gold box, so replacing the gb with an ignitor module in place is like wearing a belt with suspenders...straight out of the department of redundancy department. Also, are you trying to start this thing on years-old-varnish-for-fuel? If so, get rid of it and provide a fresh supply.
