1972 proportioning valve?

I have a 72 Scout II with the d30 and 4 wheel drums. There is what appears to be a proportioning valve under the m/c with the brake warning light switch. My question is, is this just a manifold for the switch and will it work when I swap in my disc brake 44? I have a disc/drum m/c to install. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this. Thanks justin

You will need to replace it with a disc\drum (if keeping rear drums) proportioning valve. That switch is only for sensing a pressure drop cutting off the fluid to that line and tripping the brake warning switch.

I have not cut one open to see how its made. I'm sure google search will turn up something. Disc brakes use a bit more volume of brake fluid as the piston is larger

Yes, it should work. You will need to add a proportioning valve for the disc/drum combo. Or, you can replace the switch with a combo valve that combines a switch function with a proportioning valve in one body.
