1970 S800 rewire?

Just bought an ez-wire rewire kit (12 circuit) for my 800a. After reading and researching im not sure if its preferred to remove all the wiring? Or leave it intact and remove as I do each circuit? Im doing this for the first time and im sure ill have lots more questions.:yikes:
thanks
jerry

Remove as you go, makes it easy to remember what you are doing.

Also plan out any new circuits before you start (12v outlet in rear, driving lights, trailer hook up). Then you can add these to the harness and not have the "after-thought" look

Thats what I was planning on doing, remove as I go. I like the idea of an accessory outlet @ the rear. Ill also need to add trailer wiring. Now to figure out where to mount the fuse block?
Any ideas.:yikes:
thanks,jerry

When we did a members 800 with the ez wire kit we mounted on the passenger side firewall/ tranny hump area. Had plenty of wire to go everywhere.

Wiring is fun and easy, but if you let the wiring run over you then it is a nightmare, just take your time, ask questions and when you get frustrated. Drop all tools and go inside and watch some tv for awhile.

Hope that helps.

Well turns out I dont have the room to mount it on the passangers side of the hump/footwell since I have the factory installed ac which eats up most of that aera,I ended up mounting it inside/behind the glove box,got the front and rear lights wired up yesterday,id like to run a ground to each light fixture, the front already have one for the headlights to a bolt where the frnder meets the front header/grill,any ideas for the rear grounds?
Thanks

Yeah, we gutted all the a/c and heater stuff from his 800 so were able to use that spot. Don't really need a/c in so.cal with the top off.

As for grounding, the bucket is grounded to the body, but I can understand wanting a better ground as I have done that with my front turn signals on on my Scout II. To ground I would suggest possibly drill a hole in the bucket, use a maybe #8 screw and lock nut with washer, then run a long enough black 16ga wire from the bucket to another #8 screw and lock nut with washer to some place behind the bucket in the wheel well area. It has been awhile since I have looked behind the tail lights of an 800 so not all sure where to drill at. Just find a nice clean rust free, or sand down rust to make your connections.

I wanted to do the same remove the ac,how difficult was it? But I would like to have the heat system intact. Thanks for the input.
Jerry
