Hi all:

I'm working on the above mentioned truck. Its on a International m-1200 chassis w/ 304-v8. Here are a couple pics of the master cylinder. It has IH cast into the housing. Need help as to what system I have. I have never seen anything like it. Looking for rebuild or replacement parts.

Thanks,
mjolnir

I sure hope I am wrong but I think you are going to find it very hard to replace that mc. To be honest with you I have never seen anything like that before and I have been around awhile. It might be a very common spec part in the aftermarket truck body industry but I doubt it. Imo, your best course of attack is to have it professionally sleeved. With a stainless steel sleeve, your mc should last longer than most of us will be alive.

Another possibility is a hydroboost. There are Ford and GM trucks that have a verticle linkage like the one you have there.

maybe I'll get lucky and everything will work after I get all the brake componets cleaned up.

Btw its a m-1500 chassis not the 1200 I stated before.

Would you know any model specifics as to trucks with vertical linkage?

Thanks,

I have microfiche at the office that covers this model, iirc. I'll see if there is a mc rebuild kit number. The trucks that have the horizontal and vertical linkages like the one in the link provided were p35s I think. I know where there is a lo mile m-1500 in a jy in jersey, I have to go there anyway.

Stu:

I had to go to new jersey once..................wait, :confused5: that's right I was born there!:yikes:

my boyertown only has 36,700 miles on it. But I want to go through the entire brake system before I try and get it back on the road. As I remember it the master cylinder leaked from the top
from a over tigthened fitting.

Any help appreciated:yesnod:

Stu:

here is the name plate data. It May help you look up the truck in your microfiche file.

Thanks,
