1965 scout 80 buildup

Picked this up about 3 weeks ago. Its a 1965 Scout some one had put in a 350 Chevy it has an muncie sm420 4 speed trans with granny low first gear, Dana 18 transfer case. Dana 44 rear with a torsin t1 with 4.27 gears. Front Dana 27 with a power lock diff that needs rebuild due to broken spider gears.

Looks nice, really good platform. I would seriously think twice about spending any money on that 27 front. Thats polishing a turd. Upgrade! You'll be much happier.

Nice Scout. Looks like a champagne series 80. Not a common rig in that condition. Have a good time with it.

Replacing rocker panels

Got one finished

Got this top yesterday for the glass its for sale with out glass if anyone is interested.

Broke the drive shaft taking off from a stop sign good thing it happened there. Took the rear shaft off and drove home in front wheel drive. Getting a new cv drive shatf on Friday

Put some good heat shield under the tunnel.

Some of the goodies I found when I was fixing some oil leaks.
Harlen sharp rocker rollers and stud girdles. Moroso 8 quart deep sump oil pan with windage tray and the block has 4 bolt mains.

Power washed all the oil off the block soon after and my distributor went to shit. Installed a new hei new wires and plugs will get pics soon. Next project is the exhaust so it will be above the front springs not underneath. Should be doing this next month. Where do most guys install there muffler? I'm thinking right under the rear seat area is this a good spot or will I run into clearance problems when the truck is flexed out?
