1964 Travelall - Steering Wheel Removal

How does one remove the horn button? I have tried pushing in and twisting both left and right, but nothing is budging.

That's the way to do it. Problem is the button is held and locked by a rubber piece that would flex and allow you to remove it. But after aging for so long it gets stiff and hard to get out of the way.
If I recall it removes the same direction you'd remove a jar lid, top to the left or ccw while pushing in.
