Hello Matt,
glad you could join us..
As you have probably found, the IH custom road is the road less traveled. Things usually take an inventive owner to have more than IH intended. You seem to have a diverse stable so your customizing is no stranger to you...
is your IH all wheel drive? 1000, 1100 or ,1200? If so the front axle is a Dana 44 closed knuckle. The 1100 will be easier to deal with but the 1200 has the big 6 lug pattern. 6 on 7-1/2". I think there have been a couple of people who have converted them to disk.
I suspect you can find something close enough to redrill for caliper brackets. Willwood probably has a candidate for rotors.
It is a less travelled road for sure!!
I have a 1964 Travelall c-1100 custom.
It is the boring 2 wheel drive with 5 lugs per wheel.
I think I will end up just re-doing the stock drum set up as I cannot seem to find a simple bolt on kit. I found a great bolt on kit for my 1962 chrysler's, as the 1962 chrysler brakes were a bad design….I suspect the Travelall brakes are far superior…even in drum mode.
There is a bolt on kit out there. I was at the website a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't record who it was as everything I have is 3/4 ton. The link was from this board, try the search.
Here is the stance currently
Here it is towing home the 3 door, I would have never done this with the stock drums. The truck weighs 5500 acording to the steel yeard empty and we loaded a 5 speed and a 392 plus other parts into the back of the truck and my trailer is a tanker.
Here is the look at fender spacing
Here is a look down at the brackets I built to locate everything, the front end is supposed to sandwich between the frame, my frame is curved so I had to make another piece to flatten out the frame and then used these to hold the top. Excuse the oil I had a power steering pump housing leak...since fixed.
Here is the front look at one of the c shims I made to straighten up the frame from the front side
C from the back
Rear arm mount
Really happy with the swap, the truck rails corners, stops on a dime with change, and drives so tight my wife can handle cruising it.
