1962 B164 dump

I don't think anyone can say for sure.

Most dump trucks left the factory as a cab and chassis with either the dealer or an upfitter adding the box and hydaulics later. And that is assuming your truck left the factory as a dump truck.

Most old trucks have lived many lives during their years of service. I have one dump truck that was at one time a wrecker and saw service in the air force. I have had one dump truck that saw service as a yard mule before a dump body was put on it.

Where and when the box was added will also have an impact upon what make box was put on the chassis. East coast, mid-west, west coast, etc. All have local dump body makers that have made boxes over the years. Some of whom are no longer in business or were not in business when your truck left the factory.

If you are lucky you might be able to find a tag somewhere on the dump body with a manufacturer's tag. If it is still on there it will most likely be somewhere on the side of the body towards the front and most likely on the driver's side.

I suppose the question becomes why do you need to know who made the box?

Most of the hydraulics are generic and will use standard sized fittings and build-to-fit hoses. The cylinder(s) will also most likely be a standard size with service available at most any good hydraulic repair shop.

The box will have been made out of some sort of metal. Repairs are as easy as finding a like material, cutting out the rust or damage and replacing it.
