Fc4839 is for sale. # 4338 built in 1961. For sale is a rare, highly optioned, 1961 Scout 4 x 4. This is the first year International Harvester, IH, made the Scout. The correct first run production serial number is fc4839, making this the 4338th Scout built. From the history on this Scout, it came from sparks, nv, to dobbins, CA in the mid 60's, (it has a 60's style correct barden bumper installed in woodland, CA) garage kept for 38 years and recently refreshed by the third owner. Original mileage in this rig is 35,000 +, it's a 152 cu inch one barrel motor with a 3 speed transmission and a twin stick Dana 20 transfercase. Options on this include the sport travel top with locking rear window, locking doors and locking glovebox, am radio and antenna in original condition, cigarette lighter, and modern tachometer added by current owner. It has all new correct fuel tanks and hoses, all new radiator hoses and fuel lines, rebuilt carb, new brake lines and correct master cylinder. Tires are recent with about 85% tread life left, original firestone spare tire from 1961 is still in the back. No rear seat was ordered and the bulkhead in this model is welded like early scouts in 1961. This was a daily driver until 2 weeks ago. Sorry no pictures of engine compartment as it was locked up. It is very clean and has the heater hoses in tact.
