152?

Has anyone put a TBI system on a 152? I'm not seriously considering it at the moment, but I'm curious what it looks like and what the complexity level is in terms of sensors and such. Does the afi system control the spark or just fuel, etc.

I would think a single barrel TBI setup from an engine like a j@@p 2.5 4 banger will work. Seen them swapped to other rigs.

GM and Holley also had TBI systems that will work.

The manifold is most likely going to be a problem due to the small diameter bore.

I've done the 152, 196, 6 cyl and all the v8's.

The system is all the same.
The parts are all the same basic items.

I have complete write ups on binder planet and justih.
I haven't migrated everything over here yet.

Afi is fuel and spark unless you specify fuel only.

Ihon sells an afi kit that I thought was fuel only, but the picture was too tiny to see anything. I couldn't tell what the throttle body looked like.

I converted my Chevy v8 to TBI and I don't like the complexity of it. There are tons of things that could go wrong that would be a serious pain to fix. I understood how to tune it when I was getting it going, but now all the programs, burners, cables, special laptops and all that would be murder to get going again.

The beauty is in the instant starts and not having to worry abouot flooding when you climb steep hills or get sideways.

.

If you didn't like the complexity of a direct Chevy to Chevy TBI swap -- you won't like the complexity of an IH TBI swap (almost all the fuel injections swaps you see here or elsewhere are all GM TBI based systems).

Another IH I-4 efi swap is the 'rock Scout' that carl wiese and dan hayes built years ago. Search for it here there is a full write up of the fuel injection stuff. They used a single barrel GM TBI with a custom adapter.
