3 Speed Question vs 4 Speed

My 73 Scout II which is being fully restored by friend and myself, has a 3 speed and a 304 V8.
Is there anything wrong with keeping the 3 speed? (drawbacks etc) If the 4 speed has a first gear that is granny, you essentially have 3 decent speeds to use. Is there something that having a 4 speed would help with? I would be happy keeping the 3 speed, just wondering if I'll kick myself latter for not swapping out for a 4 speed. I would say it will see mostly highway, with maybe 10% off road, no rock crawling.
Thanks in advance

If you do any towing the extra gears help on the grades. If you upgrade go to a 5 speed with over drive for better MPG.

A T18 or T19 "Close Ratio" would be more ideal. The close ratio signifies a 4 to 1 first gear versus a wide ratio which has the granny 6.32 to 1 first gear. Or you can go all out and put in one of our NV4500 five speed with overdrive conversions which work the best, especially on the highway.

I wasn't aware there was a 5 speed available, thanks!
