Scout II SOA + R/S

hi Jeff I forgot to ask last time. Do you recall what degree of shim you used on the passenger side spring perch and what the overall pinion angle was when shimmed?

I'm sorry but I don't have an answer for you. This project was done so long ago that I just don't recall. My suggestion is bolt up the axle as is and then check your measurements. After that you can order the shim(s) from there. Takes a little longer to get done this way but overall will net you a better overall driving Scout.

Hey Jeff,

when you guys do this upgrade for 35" tires, is there any movement front to back of the axles to accommodate the larger tires?

The rear axle remains in the same position as factory. For the front, the position doesn't change except for the fact of the reverse shackle kit moving the axle forward an inch. Normally you don't need to move the axles for 35's as the tires center in the wheel wells pretty decent. If you have a decent amount of up travel you May need to install new bumpstops to keep the tires out of the top of the rear quarters/front fenders. Thanks.

And here are some pics of the vehicle in general.

Help. I’m in the middle of a SOA and am at a loss on what additional parts I need. I’ll attach some photos. Just purchased this unfinished. Trying to finish it.

You need a Drag link, brakes hooked up.

However it looks like you've got machined flat top 44 knuckles so I'd buy a set of 44 Flat top high steer arms and go with a high steer set up. IHPA has this stuff available. That will get rid of that super janky looking tierod you've got going on there.

I'd also get better upper U bolt plates as those stock ones are junk.

There is all sorts of wrong going on here besides what Winchested has mentioned. I would suggest contacting our parts department with more pictures and details of your set up so we can hopefully get you going in the right direction. 530-274-1795 or email sales@ihpartsamerica.com

Already had a phone call and made some purchases. I just needed more direction and you guys were great. Hope to show off the rig once it's driving again.
