Fuel line install

Hi all. I'm getting to close to installing the tub back on my chassis. I have a fuel supply line from fuel tank question. Should I install the fuel line from the fuel tank under the tub as it was from the factory or along the passenger side of the chassis? Which ever way I install the line I will be running a hard line with a short piece of hose from the tank and short piece of hose to the fuel pump. Also I've never driven this Scout, do I need to do any mods to the fuel tank so I can fill it easily from a California gas pump? I had the inside of the stock fuel tank chemically cleaned, sandblasted and Renu Coating was applied inside and out. As always thanks for the advise.

We normally run them along the outside passenger frame rail.
Jeff, thanks for the info. When you run the fuel line along the outside of the frame do you drill a hole in the frame then tap it? Then secure the line with the clamp that has the vinyl or rubber that protects the line. Do you mount the line near the top of the frame or middle? If you have pictures to share that would be great. I will search forums to see what I can come up with. Thanks.

Yes we use vinyl clamps. Drill a hole in the frame and then use a self tapping bolt(the Scout II body bolts work great for this). Either top or side of the frame, doesn't matter. We run on both depending on how the Scout is built and what might be in the way of the lines.

Jeff, would the fuel lines fit on the top of the frame with out hitting the underside of the tub. My lift is with springs only and no body lift? My tub has been off the frame for over a year now. I did not take a measurement of the gap between the tub and chassis before pulling the tub and I just don't recall what that distance looks like. Thanks for your help.

Only tight spot is at the mid-front body mount. If you are installing fresh poly bushings with good/non-sagging/rusted out body tub mounts, then you should be good to go.
