engine compatibility with transmission

Okay, I will try to keep this sort and to point (please forgive me, my 1st post/question)

I have a 1967 800 that HAD a 266. (long store that is best told/heard over cold adult libations), I am now an owner of a parked rolling chassis with transmission and all the parts for a 266 minus block and pistons.

My question is which engine, if any, is the easiest to plug and play with remaining drivetrain? 304, 345, 392?
Thanks

The 304 is the same block as a 266 with a larger bore. The 345 and 392 have a 1/2" higher deck height. I don't know if this would cause any fitment issues in a 800.

Northern California, That's a long way to go for an engine. Perhaps a rebuilt short block and just pay the core charge.
