IH 1958 A170/A175 Dump Truck Clutch

Hey Guys,
I'm brand new the IH family, as of yesterday I purchased a 1958 A170 Dump Truck. The clutch is burned, I think the previous owner was driving around with the tranny brake set. Runs like a champ, air system works great, and the hydraulics from the previous 2 owners are reportedly operational.

So, I cannot find any kind of identification on the transmission, that may simply be knowing where to look, but if you guys could point me in the direction of IDing the tranny and the clutch so I can get new plates that'd be awesome. Below is everything I know/can assume about the truck:

Badge on Fender A170
Driver Door Tag (DDT) Model A175
DDT year 1958
DDT GVW 19.5
DDT GCW 35
Engine Casting Number 217144R4
Head Casting Number 361663-66 (I'll have to check this again, I think I wrote it down wrong, but I know it didn't match the build sheet I found online for the 304 motor)
It has an air pump operating the brakes and horn, a tranny brake, and a 2 lever hydraulically operated dump bed. The hyd pump is driven from a PTO on the right side of the tranny. Its a 4 speed tranny 2 speed rear diff, I think.

I pulled the clutch inspection plate of the bell housing and verified the motor output is spinning the clutch, and the clutch fork is engaging the fingers and decompressing the springs, but when you put it in gear and disengage the clutch the motor only slightly bogs, and the truck moves a fraction of an inch. So its trying, but no good on the friction plates.

Agin, thanks for the help, I'm happy to own such a cool truck.

Here some pictures of the truck if that helps. Besides just Transmission/Clutch info I'm looking for any good technical information on this kind of truck, since I'll be doing all the work myself.

Oh, and thanks for moving my thread to the right area, sorry about the derp move.

Thanks!

Just got back from cleaning the trans housing a bit and found the data plates buried in crap on the right side. There is a P in a gear followed by 091471 cast in the housing. Above that is a small screwed on plate lettered AL, and below is another screwed on plate stamped 3-22-57. I made a mistake before and it's actually a 5 speed trans. I'll attack a picture of the clutch later.

Again just looking for appropriate PNs and IDs so I can order a new clutch pack. Thanks!

Not a lot of medium duty truck people here. I had a B160 for a while. You will probably find a 12" disk in that truck, but the only way to know for sure is to pull it and measure. Flywheels are usually drilled for 11 & 12" clutches or 12 & 13", so you'll have a choice what to put back in. Also make sure to get the same style clutch cover and same length sleeve on the through out bearing.

Yeah I'm going to pull the Trans this weekend, I was hoping to get parts ordered sooner so I could pull, replace, and install but I'll just have to be patient. Thanks for the heads up.

Typically, you can take the old clutch disk & pressure plate (cover) to a local rebuilder and have them rebuilt in a few days.
You may need to resurface the flywheel as well.
...and as always, install new throwout bearing and new pilot bearing.

I'm in Northern Utah, would you happen to know anyone experienced in rebuilding an older clutch friction plate even remotely close to this area?
