258 Exhaust leak

I am having a really hard time getting the exhaust manifold to seal to the head on my 258. I had the intake and exhaust manifold milled so they are square, and have had it apart and changed the gasket a couple of times. I have the service manual and am following the directions for installing the manifolds. I gotta believe that I'm missing something, and the ticking is killing me. Right now it is leaking at the rear of the motor I think, but I'll know for sure once I have it apart. Anybody have a tip for sealing it up? Is there a gasket sealer I can use to help seal it up when I change the gasket this time?
 
There is a much better gasket than stock for this application.
I don't have the info for it where I am now.
Maybe I can come up with it later.

High temp gasket sealer the orange helps. You sure there isn't anything that the manifold is sitting against stopping it from pulling in tight? Is the manifold new and actually flat itself?
 
the manifold is new, and I had both intake and exhaust manifolds surfaced so they are square and flat. I've had them off twice, and can't get them to seal. There isn't anything under them except the gasket. I didn't mention that it doesn't start ticking until it is up to temp and under load. When it hasn't warmed up it is completely quiet.
 
Brand name is REMFLEX.
Part number is 10-003. Do NOT use any sealant. Torque to 20 - 25 ft. lb.
Follow the directions that come with the gasket.
 
thanks a ton, I'm not sure why that didn't show up when I searched Summit for 258 but I really appreciate the help. Ordering it tonight.
