What springs and clips do I need for doors and hatch/tailgate?

For a 1974 SII? Thanks.

I have looked in my shop manual but I cannot seem to find the info I need. I need information on the locking mechanism for the driver and pass doors, and rear tailgate/hatch. I would like pics if you have them, and the part numbers for the door lock cylinder holders, and also the holder for the rear hatch push button. I also need info on the hardware that connects the lock rods on the doors. Also, the funny looking springs for the front doors, and any springs or return springs for the hatch and tailgate.

The tail gate latch return spring is the coiled one in the picture.

Thanks. I also have these small springs with little arms on them, and much larger ones that look the same. Not sure where they go? Also, what type of clips to attach the rod locks, the little one that goes up the door (with knob) and the longer one that runs from the inner door handle mechanism? Thanks again!

You will need the plastic retainers found on the store here. https://www.ihpartsamerica.com/store/SL358616C1.html

The website says these are for 1969-75 Truck/Travelall but they also work on 1972-80 Scout II's.

Thanks. What about the funny looking springs that have little arms on them? I believe there are some in the driver and passenger door locking mechanism and possibly some on the rear hatch/lock/tailgate assembly? Kind of V shaped with a spring coil in the center, and little studs at the end of the "V"... thanks again!

Ok, I think there is another one that has a clip built into it? Do you have pics on where both of these type of mounts go in relation to the lock rods? Thanks again!

Here is an example I had on my computer. Different latch then what you would have but same concept.

And here are some pictures of a SII door latch to compare to yours.

Thanks!!!! Do any of those funky springs go in the rear latch assembly or on the hatch or in the tailgate? Do you have links for those items you pictured? Also, looking for the plastic gasket piece that goes between the T-handle and hatch door. Thank you again!!!!!

What are these? Where do they go? Thanks.

Part #: NOS-231271R1
OEM Part #: 231271R1

That spring is for the license plate bracket. When you pull the bracket up, it gives resistance and pulls it back down.

It sounds like you need to obtain some used SII door latches. The only springs you will find will either be NOS or a cross match to another car.

We do still have some new tailgate latches here on the store. https://www.ihpartsamerica.com/store/SL395909C1.html

Here are some pictures of the tailgate latch.

Might be this one. Only seen these on one Scout, my 72. Think it's to keep the lift gate strap from hinging the wrong way.
