Odd Transmission Encounter

So I am taking my 68 1200B to a local mechanic. Young kid who seems to know his stuff, although not 100% familiar with the international stuff. He has done some tune ups for me and been pleased so far. I had some leaks, and so he changed out the oil and trans gaskets. I bought them from IH Parts America. He said the oil was fine, but the trans didn't fit and was able to source it and told me that it was just an older ford trans gasket. Now one of two things is happening. Either I don't have the original borg werner trans, or he wasn't able to fit the one i provided. I have yet to get under the truck myself and inquire.

Any thoughts why the one I supplied didn't fit, other then I don't have the proper trans that came with the truck.

I have a 14 hole gasket on my BW-12/8 Tranny. It came out of a 1966 1000A pickup. The engine it was paired with was the BG-241, But everything bolted up to my 1962 C102 with the BD-220 just fine.

I highly recommend the Parts Book and Service Manuals for these old trucks. Also order the Line Sheet using the Serial / Model number. See IHPA web-site for more info, or search the forums here.

I am learning so much about this truck. Took it out for a massive drive tonight. Getting exhaust/fuel smell inside the cab, but I think I still need to adjust carb and eventually rebuild.
