Fordyce Run 2014

For those planning on attending the trail run, please post up. We will probably go from eagle lakes out to committee crossing. Once the trail ride is complete you can make the drive over to the Grass Valley fairgrounds for the remaining weekend festivities.

Departure time to be 8:00am at the cisco grove store parking lot.

At least one locker is required with two being preferable and 35's are a minimum for a heavy Scout. You will get body damage and there are several water crossings with the water levels varying depending upon pg&e. Having some form of rollover protection is a necessity and plan on bringing your own food/drinks. For the oregon folks, idk on what your current plans are, but with the fire going on over by the 'con it is now closed....

Posting up to learn about details of where and where?

I know the folks from up north might get here before Friday.

Craig, the king fire has our plans all screwed up. Not sure what is going to happen, but we are planning on being on fordyce sometime later in the week, unless we go to dusy, then all bets are off.

Sorry, the run will be on Friday, October 3rd. We'll meet at the cisco grove campground parking lot at 8 am. This is the first parking area you will see on the right across from the store. If you are trailering/parking something, there is a parking fee of $10 I believe.

I have never been on fordyce, I have heard it is pretty rough. I have a 1980 traveler; wide ratio 4 speed, Dana 300, 44 front with rebuilt trac lok and full width 60 rear with a lincoln locker and 3.73's sitting on 35's. Will that be enough? Oh and a new 12k winch.

I have not run fordyce in years. Last trip was a snow run and we went about a mile. I.e the campground to the trail. Lol.

I've never gone all the way (bucket list)

which hill 1 is very tough. But with a winch its doable.

The water flow is a trickle at 51 cfm

You should be fine if you are with others...

Plan on some body damage though.

Bring misc spares.

Thanks for the info, body damage isn't much of a concern at this point. It's not as bad as paul's but it's making a fair effort at catching up. If you don't count his little incident at ihwr.

The boys and girls from oregon are heading to cisco grove campground. They are most likely there now and setting up camp. 146.550 simplex unless you have there ph numbers.

I know plugugly is heading up on Thursday.

I was out at moonrocks and the rubicon with the group, but have to work Thursday.

Ok need to know who would like to go Friday. We could go from committee down hill. Which should be easier since you going down hill. Well going down when 1 might be an issue but there a by pass.

Otherwise I will just help out the crew at the rally
