I bought this heavy duty ole girl this past early Thursday morning from a gentlemen that had it for sale for months and was going to bring it to the junkyard but me and him both agreed we would rather not see it be turned into a soup can so he trailered the truck to where I live and did a lot of shoveling to make spot for the truck so as far as what im going to with it is I d like get the truck back on the road again

She's a beauty. I believe you meant to title this as a 1956 though. I had a 1960 b160 2 yd dump on loan for a few years and it was real handy to have around.

What engine is in that puppy?

Oh I dont know the year. Im just going by what the po told me and the engine is a big 6 cylinder with a 4+2speed rearend and the max gvw is 25.500 I do plan to get more pictures o f all parts of the trucksoon

also im new to the world of big trucks so any an all help is apparated.

Im a loadstar guy so im drooling. If its a gasser my guess would be the legendary red diamond. One of the most badass big sixers ever. Diesel will be buda or cummins. Pictures will clarify. You have the daddy to my loadstars. Pretty amazing piece of history there. Please keep us updated :cornut:
 
Here's a 1955 fire engine I posted on the board a few years back. It had a rd450.

The "r" series was replaced by the fleetstar a models in the 1968 model year. So your truck very well could be a 1966 model year.
Typical engines were the rd-406, rd-450 and the rd-501. These are all inline 6 cylinder gasoline engines.
 
Sorry I took so long getting back. Ive done some work to the truck not a lot I did knock down some of the rust and some cleaning along with saarting once in awile. I am a little dissipointed in myself that im not further along. Oh well its a project after all and thanks for replying.
