please reply in this thread so that I can approximate the head count.

Hey dave: how about doing a 50/50 raffle to boost the treasury?

Marty

Moose, I won't make the bbq - doing some post grad edumacation that weekend. I have to do so many hours each year to maintain my license and this will be a good one.
Doc

I will have to play this one by ear. Don't think I can get my beast ready for the street by then. :frown5: unless I can hitch a ride from some one

Hey doc,
sorry you can't make it. It won't be the same without you.

Hey scooter,
if you can easily get onto the bart, I'm sure we can find a way to pick you up at the fremont station.

Marty

Scooter, I 'm going to the bbq , and live less than a half mile from the fremont bart station, right off walnut ave, so if you can make it to the bart station, just call and I'll come and get you, or you can hoof it the half mile to my house. Good food and beer - you don't want to miss this one!

Just so that we don't end up with way too much food left over, please make it a small side dish.
Last year we were sending people home with take away plates because everyone so generously brought so much.
Seriously, you guys rock. But you didn't expect karen and I to eat it all. Did you?

Moose

It looks like it will be a small turnout. But mrs. Moose and I are determined to go ahead, rain or shine. We'll see you all there.

Marty

I might be able to break away and head down. That is if I could hitch a ride from fremont bart.

But, I need to finish up this brake job on a 72 pickup (1110). Just need to finalize the bleeding. If done early enough, and "if" the owner of said truck has time, he May wanna swing by for a few.

Boogers

took me a little longer than expected to get finished. But I'm done and freed up some space. Now that it stopped raining, it's a bit late for me to head down now. Hopefully next year

Scooter,

I think hondo threw you a curve ball by being a day early. With luck you can still make it today!

Moose

:eek6: momma always told me not to do them drugs :nono:

guess working 6 or 7 days a week also kind throws my schedule off too

I don't have much else planned. Finished the brake job and cleared up some space yesterday. Nothing pressing to work on till next weekend for a non-IH vehicle

I'm glad you made it kendal. Sorry again about mis-pronouncing your name.
Here's a group photo.

What a hillbillish group. Had a good time. Thanks. Maybe in a few after the rally we can do a wrench fest/bbq up in my man cave. For the possible break downs lol

It looks like I'll be wrenching before the ralley.
I looked at ol' rusty the other day and noticed that he was leaking brake fluid from the right rear wheel cylinder. When I crawled underneath to take a closer look I saw that the other rear cylinder was leaking too.
Imagine that? I remember replacing those both at the same time. In 1999. And they both started leaking in the same week! Must'a both been made on the same Friday. :smile5:

The truck-hauler trailer brakes were not working and it hadn't been serviced in years so I put it up on stands and pulled the wheels. Brakes just needed adjusting. Bearings got greased. Broken spring on the left rear! What should have been an hour's work turned into a project.

Every bolt was rusted solid and broke rather than come off. Then the spring place would not have the heavier spring for a week. Pulled all the springs, disassembled them, bought new (lighter) springs, disassembled them and build hd spring packs for all four corners. Chamfered the leaves. Waterproof bearing grease (there May be better but that's what was at hand) between the leaves and new spring center bolts. It all goes back together this afternoon - ready for the rallye.
