1961 80 rear quarter removal

I drilled out all the spot welds as far as I can tell. What holds the end cap and quarter together? I see the seam, but is it spot welded also or just glued. What about at the rocker?

Wish the rears were as easy as the fronts.

the cap and quarter are spot welded together. There is a small flange on each piece behind the seam you can see from the outside. No real easy way sorry to say. I have remove the two as one piece. Then I drilled out the welds on the flange if you need to.

Some one May have a work around but I didn't find one.

I really can't remember if the front of the qp and rear of the rocker are welded but I think so.

You thought correct Robert. I had lost patience by then, so they got air hammered apart.:devil:

its alright tho, I think I have decided to cut the rockers two inches, and make custom quarters from 10 gauge anyway
