Hi. I'm working on a '79 traveler, and am almost ready to start welding in patch panels.
I've removed (cut out) the rust from my floors. This included the body mount bracket and floor support channel directly below it at the front of the cab - on both sides (driver and passenger). Both sets of supports have been cancer for years, and the tub has sagged because of the added stress of essentially not having a body mount installed.
My question is: are the floor pans supposed to be level? Or should there be a slope from the floor center (trans floor cover) towards the doors? Or a slope from the rear of the cab towards the front?
If you have a chance to throw a level on each of your front floors (driver and passenger), please let me know if they read the same (are level), or if they slope to something. Thanks.
I'd hate to tack everything up to learn that it all has to come back out just for slope.
