I've spent the better part of an hour searching around the internet and can't find what I'm looking for. Is there an adapter plate that mates an sm465 transmission to an IH engine? I have found a deal on a 465 but can't find any info on mating it to the 392 I just bought as well. I see that IHOnly has an adapter from an IH engine to a 700r4 and an nv4500, but thats about all I have found as far as keeping the IH engine. Any help would be appreciated, and sorry for the long post.

This adapter that you want as far as I know is not available. You might be able to make something work with our existing 700r4 adapter but that would be something you would have to gamble on. You're better off getting a matching IH transmission. Plenty of IH version t98's, t18/19's out there for sale that would be a direct bolt on and just as strong as the sm465.
After searching around some more I'm sure thats it. It seems there are a few t19's out there for sale and it might be easier and cheaper to do that than spend a bunch of money on the sm465. Thanks!
