Hello to all, I have a 64 s80 with 152 ci motor, and 30 in tires. I have some questions on how to get decent hp and a reliable motor.
Some background on my 64. This rig has narrowed d44 in the front and rear we still havent come to a gear ratio yet, I have purchased a header, a pertronix ignition and coil, new poly tanks and sending units, and a 13 circuit wire harness that I have not installed. The motor is at the machine shop, it has been gone through and is in decent shape.
The plan is to take the block .30 over, deck it, grind flywheel ect. With flat top pistions, and put in a split cam kit. I was just going to gasket match the head untill I found ihon and the ultimate 4 banger. Im doing my reasearch for the head that was recomended. Will a header for a 152 head work with the different head. I have not bought any internal parts for the motor yet. I would like to keep the outside appearence of the motor and body looking stock, if that's possible
now that you know what im doing I would like some advice on the carb and engine set up, im not the most advanced guy when it comes to motors. I read on a few threads that ihon or someone affiliated with them is doing some work with getting the 1904 holly to preform better. I am building this rig to be a daily driver. I would like to get all hp out of the motor that I can and still be able to count on it to start and drive every day.
Thanks, any advice is welcome
