Line Ticket Info

Ok, I just got my line set ticket and can decipher most of it. I've updated my sig with most of it. There are a couple of items that I would like to get some help on. Here are my questions if anyone is able to help.
What is the chicken scratch on the left? Is that the 'inspectors' number?
Why is 'propshaft' listed?
What does 'speedo & misc' mean?
What does 'storage box' mean?
What does this mean? It's hard to read too. 'pba slot range 414-427 373 spec'
finally, I'd like to find out exactly what the colors are. I have. 'sgl ct399 colors, 2 tone std IH colors, paint-chart 101sc, upper 5046 gr, lower 5017 gr f-b'

Thanks. I've read that post a couple of times now. The only item that I got from my questions is the speedo toolbox item. I am guessing there isn't much more info than that. Mine are two seperate line items.
Here's what Scout connection was able to tell me. I just got their reply at the same time.
The chicken scratch is the 'inspectors' number.
Propshaft is what they called driveshaft.
Speedo & misc refered to jack/handle/lug wrench.
Storage bos refered to the center console on the Scout II.
The pba slot... Means gear ration 3:73 and special paint.
Ct399 is the color chart book. Paint chart is where they made the color changes/masking breaks. The colors are #5046 upper - greeen and #5017 lower - green.
I haven't been able to find a color chart with those numbers on them though.

As michael stated; read the link in his post...

Yes, the line set ticket documents "how" an IH vehicle was built at the factory...

It is also a reference document -- the numbers "in the center" "point to" the correct page(s) in the IH parts book (actually microfiche with a microfiche reader -- high tech 70's version).

If your vehicle was serviced at a IH dealer, the IH parts department whould use the LST to find the correct parts for your vehicle.

Propshaft -- the driveline -- driveshafts / u-joints / center bearing /etc

speedo & misc -- speedometer / gauges / dash(???)

storage box probably means that the Scout came with an optional storage area (fender?)

probably impossible to find the exact colors.... (sse the link)

373spec -- means special paint -- vehicle probably was delivered to a commercial / government entity and painted in "their colors"...

IH would also paint the vehicle in any color the customer specified -- not just the stock colors available from IH...

The paint codes (5046 / 5017) do not show in the list of stock IH colors for 1974.
 
Where is the lug wrench and jack stored? I don't see where they would be stored.
Also, why would I have a sticker on the driver side door sill that has a canadian maple leaf on it? Was that just so they could also be sold in canada and doesn't mean anything more than that?
 
The ct 399 colors are only found in the ct 399 color chart, those are the "standard" fleet colors. They were available for a small up charge. They included many big name companies trade Mark colors like coke and pepsi, commonly used municipal colors, and a smattering of general colors, so every rig in your fleet could be the same color from a Scout to a loadstar.

For a even more money they would match any color sample that was sent in if none of the ct399 colors would were "right".

The jack, handle and lug wrench are stored under the hood in the pass side front. There are supposed to be adel clamps under the bolt holding the radiator in on that side that the lug wrench slides in. The jack sits on a stud sticking up from the inner fender and the handle slips into 2 holes on the header panel and snaps into a clip near the heater box.

The maple leaf just designates that it met the standards to be sold in canada. It does not meant that it was built there nor sold there originally.
 
I have a couple more questions on the line ticket.
What does front end sheet metal mean?
I see the model code column but what is the column to the right of that? It's the column with mostly 9650 and 9651 in it.
And then what is the next column over from that? It's the one that has a letter designation like a, be and aelmpu in it.
