terry said..... Well no body has spoken up on this, so.... I'm declaring Wednesday night nerd night. If would like to test out your nerd skills or equipment, tune to 146.500 (simplex) at 19:30 hours.
That's 7:30pm for those aspiring nerds, and nerd wannabes.

Do not forget....

I will be testing 3 radios with multiple power and antenna combinations.

I guess I was wrong. Gmt is 8 hours + right now. But I have lived under the impression in the military that zulu (gmt) was constant and didn't shift with daylight savings time. Zulu being the z shift or zero from the prime meridian passing through greenwich england. And thus the same as gmt and within a certain precision equal to utc.

Nerd!!!!:out:

It went ok -- I'd give terry an a+, Mike an a, myself a d, jen a c, monte an f and drew an incomplete.

We talked and tested and were online for about 30 minutes. It was good to see what my radios could do and what I needed to work on.

I really need to 'tune' my antenna - I'm guess as it sits I have an swr way up there. I got better reception and transmission with the handheld antennas.... Yikes.

But I could just hit Mike in silverton with my ancient 5w kenwood running through my old school linear amplifier.... My 25w junky icom was another story -- I never heard Mike on it all night.

Well, everyone gets an a for skills and technique.
A few c's and d's for equipment.

So, those that need to work on yer junk and we'll try again next week, same time, same station.

Sorry, with all the young kids at my house we had an couple fingertips on jack that ended up with 2nd degree burns and blisters on his finger tips. He is doing fine and the burns are not that bad but he was hysterical last night.

Have ya tried crate trainin' for them rugrats?? Works for housebreakin' too.

I got a couplea extra superlarge dawg crates ya can borrow. Jes' tell them rounders they are clubhouses and each git one of their own. Ya could hang the crates in the tree and make 'em treehouses too.

I'm out tonight. (11/18/2009) apparently I have a baby on the way (wtf??? Who knew?) and my list of household chores is getting longer everyday....

I am scheduled to be painting and doing some drywall work tonight...

I am out as well. My wife wants to spend my money playing bingo at the casino. I will be stuck at home hanging with the kids.

What is the expected date for baby "Scout"?
