IHSTO election meeting this coming Thursday

Yes, folks, it's that time of year again. The meeting this thrusday, September 3rd, is our annual election meeting. All the election information is here. Unfortunately, our president, carl, was not able to get the evening off to pass the baton to the next president, but he will be with us in spirit. Your secretary, kathy, and I will be handling the proceedings for the evening up until the new president is elected.

We are back at the home place restaurant in silverton. The start time is the same, 7pm, with the meeting starting at 8pm. A few us usually show up for dinner earlier, which the restaurant doesn't mind.

The home place is located at 1080 north 1st st., in silverton.

Post here, email or pm me if you have any questions.

See all of you there,

lyle

I would just like to remind everyone that I will not be in attendance for this meeting due to my work schedule. I have given it over to my Dad and kathy to run and am confident they will without a hitch.

Since we are talking election, I would like to thank IHSTO for having the confidence in me and electing me twice to the office of president. I have served as best I could, but will not be seeking reelection to any office. I have moved to working graveyards and cannot guarantee I will have thursdays off. I think IHSTO deserves some fresh blood in this office, who will come to it with new vigor and new ideas.

If you are at all interested in the inner workings of the club I strongly suggest running for office. It is fun, challenging and incredibly rewarding. Being an officer gives you a chance to control what the club does, events it participates in and so much more. I strongly suggest it to anyone remotely interested.

So, as this IHSTO year winds down to it's end and the next one starts, I say good luck to the new officers and remember, this is a club for fun family and fellowship. Remember this and you'll never go wrong.

I might be there, maranda has been taking some night classes and this Thursday is one of those nights. :yikes: maybe me and the baby will give it a try. :icon_wink:

Just an fyi, I am nominating monte as the clubs master kilter. Duties to include registering a tartan pattern with the scottish society that awards such things, creating an official crest, and figuring out how to incorperate a caber toss into the standard IHSTO event format.

Other duties to include creative ways to stuff things in sausage and smoke em. And randomly smacking people on the back of the knees and calling them "jimmy"

since the club is around 2% scottish, the master kilter should also recover any government annuities for the club relating to the years of oppression of the scottish people. A.k.a. Obama bucks.
