Front Sway Bar

Jeff, everything's turned out great so far, traveler's back on the road, but I need to finish the install of the front sway bar. The threaded rod end link position, when the vehicle is at rest, does it matter if the bottom of the link is angled toward the rear of the vehicle? SUA w/ reverse shackle. Is it necessary to have it plumb? Supplied tabs are currently at the very edge of the spring plates, can't move them any farther forward. By the way, the ride/ drive is incredible, rides better than my $45k Chevy truck:icon_smile: good quality stuff by you and your staff. Thanks a bunch.

Chris,

thanks for the review on our products and I'm happy to know that it turned out to be everything that you expected. As for the swaybar links its ok for the links to not be perfectly vertical however it is best that are as close to vertical as possible. Can you post a picture of what your set up looks like as it shouldn't be far off from vertical and look like the picture shown.

My link brackets at the spring plates are only tacked, I'll mock it up and send a post a picture. Guessing that they would have to be near vertical to allow for rearward travel of the axle without bind. Need to make up longer brackets, something to extend farther forward of the spring plate for the link to bolt to or lengthen the swa bar arm.

Sway bar link angle

Can you post a picture similar to what I posted earlier. It will help me determine why your links are at so much of an angle compared to what we have built.

I think what might be the problem is that deaver made the springs a little longer (by 3") than the originals. Center of the spring eye to the center pin. This would explain why my reverse shackle placement at the shackle did not wind up in the same place as your regular conversions. I have lengthened the sway bar arms to compensate for this, I'll post pictures later this week when I get back from panama. Thanks!
