lift kit or soa

I have a set of d44s to install in my '69 800. I was going to do a SOA with the sii leafs and make new hangers for the frame. I have been reading about problems with the SOA, just wondering if mabye a 4 inch lift and keep the springs under the diffs. I want stability and don't want to mess with axle wrap problems and steering issues. Who makes the best 4 inch lift for the sii. I like the price of the Rough Country. Anyone know where I can get a complete kit for a reasonable price? I would like to run a 36-37 inch tire, and fender trimming isn't an issue.

Scout 80's and 800's used a different spring width and length then the Scout II's so it isn't anywhere near bolt up. Rough Country springs are just that rough and will turn a harsh ride even more stiff. If you want to run a 36-37, then even with an SOA you'll have to cut lots of fender, assuming you want full use of the flex.

We sell the Rough Country lifts but as carl pointed out they are for a Scout II. We should have any day now our own CPT leaf springs for the Scout 80/800.

As for the Rough Country riding rough I can't say that they do until I get some feed back from my customers who have purchased the kit from us. There are two kits that Rough Country offers - a 2.5" and 4" lift. I will say that the 4" springs look like they would ride a tad on the rough side but the 2.5" springs look real decent. Also keep in mind that shocks have a lot to do with how a vehicle rides. We have been upselling bilsteins with the Rough Country kits. Again so far I have not received any feedback but hope to real soon as I feel that the combination of a high quality shock with these springs shouldn't be as bad as they are perceived to be.
 
I don't have a problem building new hangers to relocate the sii springs on the 800's frame. And I don't want an overly tall truck but I do want to run a 37inch tire. The last lift I bought for my '64 Scout 80 was from alcan and I am happy with it, but it only has 31 inch tires with the 4 inch lift. If anyone has any ideas on another option to get the height. Possibly a 2.5 inch lift and the SOA, would that work or mabye a little too high and problems with axle wrap??? Any ideas, I want to be able to cruise down the highway at 75mph with no issues.
