Front chevy D44 axle housing

Jeff,
I want to go SOA on my 79 Scout II, but I'm not sure if I want to take on the front axle myself. I was looking at the rs + SOA buildup you did and was wondering if you could set up a Chevy axle housing to be shipped out. With whatever mods that need to be done to it.

I plan on using the guts of my Scout d44 to put into the housing. That can be done right?? Or will I need to use some Chevy parts.

Thanks steve

Steve,

we can set you up with a ready to install GM housing narrowed to Scout width(knuckles turned for better castor) setup for SOA with shockmounts and spring perch's for $700 plus shipping. This would be a bare housing(no gears/carrier). If interested in a housing with gears/carrier already installed call me for pricing as it will vary depending on what carrier is used(locker, l/s, etc). We can also build you a complete front axle assembly with hysteer, brakes, etc that is ready to install(just add oil and bleed brakes). Again call for pricing if interested.
