Hey guys!

I've received great recommendations from a lot of Scout owners on your products. In fact Isa helped me out quite a lot a couple years ago in getting some last minute repairs done to my Scout before I had it shipped to hawaii. I'm currently in iraq (again) and am trying to get togather a "kit" of sorts for a SUA lift shipped to oahu, hi for my Scout 800. Here's my thoughts:

2.5" lift spring kit
poly spring and frame eye bushings
Bilstein shocks (4)
u-bolts steel caster shims
extended shackles
extended brake lines

additionally possibly a heavier duty draglink/tie rod and a drop pitman arm.

I know this would be a good conversation to have on the phone, but its difficult to do out here in iraq. Thanks for your help and I would appreciate an idea on what IH only can help out with. Any idea what the cost and shipping time would be?

Thanks again!
Chuck

Chuck,

right now I'm going to hold off on quoting you springs as we are in the planning process of coming out with our own leaf spring line under the CPT branding. The bushing, shocks, ubolts, caster shims and brake lines shouldn't be an issue. We don't offer anything at this time in regards to a drop pitman arm or heavy duty tierod/draglink. What is your time frame on needing these parts? If you're going to be needing these parts soon then I can source you out a leaf spring lift from mr. Scout.

Let me know when you get a chance.

Thanks for serving our great nation!

Jeff, thanks for your reply! Wow, that's great that you're going to come out with your own line of springs. Very cool. Who is going to make them? If springs aren't an option now, I'll look into alcan or mr Scout.

I was hoping for a delivery date of the end of April. I'll be back from iraq then and will have some time off for the install...after some quality family time first, of course.

I've been doing some research on binder planet and doesn't sound like I "need" the new draglink/tierod/dropped pitman arm. What are your thoughts?

You didn't mention the shackles, but I'm sure you have those, right?

I've also been thinking maybe I want to go 4" SUA instead of the 2.5". Would you be able to support that?

Tell Isa I said hello. I was the white 800 he did some brake work and built a full cage for in about May 2007. I had it towed there then towed to san diego to get shipped away. He did great work and the cage is awesome.

To keep the price down I am shopping with some of the local spring shops in my area so that I don't have to pay an inbound freight charge on these. I doubt that I will have these ready for market by then so you might consider either the alcan's or mr. scouts. You can order either size lift - 2.5" or 4" - choice is up to you.

As for the drop pitman arm and draglink I also feel that one is not needed because of the size of the lift but would consider a heavier duty tierod and draglink due to the larger tire size I assume you will be running.

Sorry about forgetting to mention the shackles. Yes we always have a huge pile of those.

Jeff,

great! Thanks for the info. I'll try and talk to alcan and get back with you. Keep bringing us great things!
