crank no start

ok guys im comnfused, few weeks ago fired up my pikcup(71 1210 camper special 245/4spd 2wd) ran gret then 2 days later idles like crap, misfires, engine mad a thunk sounded like it was running on 1 at best 2 cylinders, then died. i have replaced the igniition switch, replaced all 8 spark plugs,(have not done wires) changd out strarter( has happened before) . now all she does is sping over coghs hits for a sec then dies. any ideas?

It ran great then sat for 2 days. Then it began running like crap? How long was it sitting prior to the fire up and running well?

The IH SV's do not like old fuel. The old varnished fuel will stick an intake valve and or bend a pushrod or more upon restart.

Water in the fuel can do that.

Well if it ran ok on that fuel before this happened, it's probably ignition. Have you checked foe moisture under the distributor cap?

no not yet, did have a freind and im getting spark, at plug wires so i doint think it could be moisture, but i could be wrong

are you positive its not flooded ? if not flooded
are you positive its getting fuel ?

to me it seems like there is spark but seems like its either to much fuel or not enough......

Has this been modified? Still on points? Verify the gap, condenser etc. Cheap to replace. Can you see the fuel spraying or being drawn down the carb when cranking? Don't pull a Slingblade, make sure it's got gas in the tank! No GAS

Has at least half a tank if gas, getting fuel to carb. Far as i know it all in but I'm not sure. Will check points later today

Sounds like ignition to me too.
