Question for you two.
I broke a main leaf on my bastard pack XLC springs this past weekend wheeling. I run 6 leaves without the XLC overload.
I need springs within 4-5 weeks before our next wheeling weekend.
I know y'all have good experience with both skyjacker and rough country. Which pack would you choose for running spring over, I'm hoping one of these packs will closely match my bastard pack that I made out of XLC mains and stock leafs.
In my opinion the skyjackers look like a better built spring with the Teflon pads and tapered leaves but do they have enough spring rate/ load capacity for my heavy junk?
I understand I may have to run a shorter shackle again if the springs lift it too much compared to how it sits. (your 5" cpt shackle on it now)
My scout weighs 6200 lbs with me in it (1 tons and 40s. And full cage)
Rouch country claims 318 lbs/inch spring rate. Skyjacker doesn't list theirs.
Thanks for any insight you may have!
My best option is cut it all off and install 56" square body 2wd springs but I don't have the time to fab the mounts up.
Ps! You can weld a leaf spring and drive 400km home from the trail towing a pop up camper!
