Worn rocker pads?

So, I have a new-to-me 196. Story goes it was rebuilt, but while sitting on the stand in the garage (without the valve cover), a cat knocked a bag of birdseed on/in to the engine. Project stalls, and a dozen years later, I buy the remains. I've disassembled the thing, and it has new .030 rod bearings and .010 mains. One of the spark plug hole fillers was missing, and that cylinder is rusty. I need new pistons (my fault during removal). Crank & rods look good. Will take block to machine shop for bore reconditioning (clean, decide on pistons, then hone to size). I'll take the head in, too, so they can clean and see what the valves and guides look like (don't want to assume anything). I've got the nine stand welded rockers, and the stands were correctly installed when I removed them. I've not yet disassembled the shaft to check the shaft & bushings. No obvious butchery elsewhere (besides the p.o. Love of blue sealant), but the rocker pads have me worried; is this too much wear? And if so, what is the solution?

The rocker pads don't look terrible but they do look dirty..

Take them to your machine shop anr they should be able to reface them or point you to someone who can. From your post is seems like you are planning on disassembling the rocker assembly so check for shavt wear and the like... You May want to build up a boat assembly or have your old one rebuilt through IHPA
