Windshield gasket w/o lockring

So earlier this year I bought one of IHPA's Scout II windshield gaskets w/o a lockring, and had a local auto glass place install it after fabbing me a new glass using the old one as a template.
It looks good on the top and bottom, but the sides seem like they're not seated correctly, as shown in the pics. Since the initial install was done in January, they assured me the gasket would suck in as the weather warmed. It hasn't.
I called the install service back and they came out to see if they could fix it, but said it was in as far as they could get it unless I wanted to A: take it to their shop and leave it for them to work on or B: have the glass shaved to make it fit better, which they didn't recommend as that might make it leak.
So my question is this: ~should~ this gasket fit better around the sides? Have other folks who tried this product run into similar situations? What did you do to fix it or do I just need to have the glass shop have another go at it in their own shop?
If someone else has had better luck with this gasket could you post up a pic of your own results so I can show the shop it IS possible.

Hard to tell from your pictures, but is it just the corners that are showing a gap, or entirely down both sides? Can you post up some more pictures including a full shot of the sides and inside the truck where the seal is giving you problems?

It may just be the way the seal got installed as generally people complain of them being "too long" when in reality you have to cram the seal into the corners to make it fit properly. This keeps the seal tight over time as it will shrink as it gets older.

Have to also ask this question, does it look like they put a cut in the seal anywhere? Some shops not familiar with having to cram the excess length will simply cut a few inches of seal out to make it fit which ruins it.

No cuts that I could find. You're probably correct, they probably just didn't stuff the corners/sides hard enough. Sorry about the limited number of pix, for some reason, any pic I try to take in the light is "too large". I'll try to get some more pix tonight when there's less light.
