Winch

At least it is getting used, alot if it is on a Jeep

check out the winches at harbor freight, they are the same as a mile marker. Or, I have heard that the smittybilt winches are good and on the cheaper end of the stick compared to warns.

Um are you insane, you don't remember?

get a warn and don't mess around with junk.

You put that winch through hell before it smoked. I should try to find that pic. But he was saying cheap, that is why I suggested them.

For some reason I don't like the hf winches. However I do have one of the smittybuilts that I use on my trailer that I have found to be a very nice unit... For the price.

If I could use a cheapy, the smitty would get my vote (typically around $300, and if you watch 4wp's sales, that can be to your door). Seems to be good quality for the price. For more serious use, a warn on the front gets my vote. Newer high-speed unit if you need a "laydown", 8274 if you got the room.

Avoid the slow (and usually cheaper) winches. You will hate them on the trail.
