My father-in-law gave me $400 for a grad present and the wife says that I can't spend it on parts (expendable stuff: junkyard axle shafts, hubs, etc.). I'm leaning towards the bender that mocha Mike has

Yes it's not the greatest bender, but it will work, and any winch that I pick up won't be top-of-the-line either. So what do you think? Winch, bender, or something else?
 
Since you phrase it as an “either/or”, the bender rules. In the event that someone May “borrow” the bender, the borrower should naturally compensate you for its use financially. In time, compensations might add up making possible the purchase of a winch. Nice investment.
 
I'd go for the winch. You can always plan ahead to rent or borrow a tube bender. You can't always rent or borrow a winch when you need one.

I am voteing for the winch. The one time you realy, realy ,realy :yikes:need a winch it pays for its self ten fold. I chose a winch befor lockers... But thats just my opinion ..Joe
 
I'm surprised that everyone is saying a winch. I thought there would be more of sean's idea, everyone I go wheeling with has a winch, but a bender would open up a lot of future fabrication, plus it would let me work on my cage. Anyone else?
 
I like ur style pete...take a poll...majority says winch and u just go with the bender anyways. Hahahaha... I would of gone with the bender too.
